YOUTH TV INTERVIEW

We were able to work with an exciting youth group in the area who have set themselves up to make local documentaries about issues and people from the locality. We ran a short course on film-making and interviewing, culminating in an interview with a local older person about their school experiences.

The film school taught them all aspects of creating a small production crew with hands on skills in camera work, sound recording, production and editing. We also spent a session exploring how to set up an interview to get the most out of the interviewee.

The young people responded very well and were very excited about sessions. At the end we had a very successful interview with an older community member about their school days.

The young people developed questions and were fully engaged in hearing about how school had changed in even a short space of time especially in regard to technology and the subjects available.
